Lonely

Some days I fine my self thinking you are my only friend
only you can explain what I myself can't
my friend my singular companion
I  spent hours, day even thinking about you
 in solitary
 my solitary
 your love broke the barrier
I honestly think I am going mental
without you my emotions are unkempt
I am going crazy
I swear this loneliness is killing me
my heart is feeling things it shouldn't
awaken my soul so my mind will be restored to it's proper state
I don't understand myself anymore
what is wrong with me
I don't remember
Friend help me
friend I need you
You have helped me in so many ways
fix me
please I beg
I am a wreck
a broken shell of a person I once was
help my lonely soul

misunderstanding

People don't understand Mother Nature
They don't understand that it's not her fault everybody is dying
that she can't stop the ground from being arid
the bairns are brainwashed
once upon a time everyone was simple- minded
back when mother Nature actually mattered
now she is just an  after-thought
I just want you to know that I still care and that
I am trying to save you
I don't know why and sometimes I  accidentally join the crowd in wronging you
but I wrote this poem for you and only you
I know it isn't enough but at least you know
 I am trying love
You have treated well
I am just returning the favor

Letter to self

Dear Queen
You are beautiful
not in the average type of way
not the teen magazine way
but your way
the pure way
everything about you is amazing
I hope you realize that before you sell yourself short
you are brave
you are strong
you are a warrior
you are nothing less than a Queen
do not forgot that
not now not ever
even if a man tells you otherwise
they are lying
as men always do
you are only to trust in four things
God
Yourself
your family and you soul mate
and until you meet him don't trust in any man you meet
for they will hurt you as they always do
So take courage
and take whatever life throws at you
calmly

Soulless

It is lonely here
hollow, cold
I find myself trying to fill this void with meaningless things
white noise it all seems like ,in the face what is needed
I find my soul full of nothingness
and it claims to be abundant in those things unseened
but it lies
as the rest of me does
no more no less than what I have learned
I am not saddness by it
mildly depressed
but this soul in all its emptiness can not undserstand what I want
What I need as a whole
so I left it
It is now I suppose lonelier than before

William Shakespeare

In honor of the play Romeo and Juliet that I am reading in English class I am doing a feature on William Shakespeare.
William Shakespeare is widely regarded as the greatest writer in the English world. Shakespeare is a not only a writer but a poet too. He also used poetry in his plays. It is one of his poems

Bridal Song

ROSES, their sharp spines being gone,
Not royal in their smells alone,
   But in their hue;
Maiden pinks, of odour faint,
Daisies smell-less, yet most quaint,
   And sweet thyme true;
Primrose, firstborn child of Ver;
Merry springtime's harbinger,
   With her bells dim;
Oxlips in their cradles growing,
Marigolds on death-beds blowing,
   Larks'-heels trim;

All dear Nature's children sweet
Lie 'fore bride and bridegroom's feet,
   Blessing their sense!
Not an angel of the air,
Bird melodious or bird fair,
   Be absent hence!

The crow, the slanderous cuckoo, nor
The boding raven, nor chough hoar,
   Nor chattering pye,
May on our bride-house perch or sing,
Or with them any discord bring,
   But from it fly!
William Shakespeare

What does this mean to you? Comment please?

Haiku Traffic Signs Bring Poetry To NYC Streets

NYC Traffic Haiku

I recently read an article on NPR about the use of poetry in New York City
New York city is beginning to use traffic warning signs written as Haiku. I think people will really pay attention to it and it will get the message across to drivers, walkers and bike riders. This is a fresh and  exciting way to get people's attention. I hope the trend catches on and other cities and start start to use it. This just goes to show that poetry is a great way to get a point across and to get people to really listen or look. Poetry is definitely starting to make a difference. We just have to find to get young minds into it so more  creative ideas like this one get be made and known in the world. Young minds shouldn't go to waste. hopefully this will help.

Back to The classics

So I usually read and listen to newer poetry for I going to take it back.
Pablo Neruda is probably my favorite dead poet. Pablo Neruda was he pen name then he changed it into his legal name. I think part of  the reason he did that is the part that a lot of poets write from a point of view that is not their own. Just to keep an open mind I guess. However I can't read minds so it just what I think but I personally like writing about in 3rd person. It makes it less nerve racking to share because nobody but the writer knows. It is one of my favorite poems by Pablo.

Here I Love You
Here I love you.
In the dark pines the wind disentangles itself.
The moon glows like phosphorous on the vagrant waters.
Days, all one kind, go chasing each other.

The snow unfurls in dancing figures.
A silver gull slips down from the west.
Sometimes a sail. High, high stars.
Oh the black cross of a ship.
Alone.

Sometimes I get up early and even my soul is wet.
Far away the sea sounds and resounds.
This is a port.

Here I love you.
Here I love you and the horizon hides you in vain.
I love you still among these cold things.
Sometimes my kisses go on those heavy vessels
that cross the sea towards no arrival.
I see myself forgotten like those old anchors.

The piers sadden when the afternoon moors there.
My life grows tired, hungry to no purpose.
I love what I do not have. You are so far.
My loathing wrestles with the slow twilights.
But night comes and starts to sing to me.

The moon turns its clockwork dream.
The biggest stars look at me with your eyes.
And as I love you, the pines in the wind
want to sing your name with their leaves of wire. http://poemhunter.com/poem/here-i-love-you-3/

I have found that it helps your creative wheels turn. So following  is a short poem probably inspired by one of the artists below. It is very old so I am not sure.

You lay me on a bed of thorns and let nature take its tow
free me from a life of comfort and release me into the darkness alone so I can find the light.
carve an image of me in your heart mind and soul so that you don't forget the things your eyes have seen or let them slip from your heart.
my love why do you torture me?

This is only a poem

If you were a good mother you wouldn't let your children die in your arms
Or let your offsprings settle a disagreement with violence
You know you have done a terrible Job lately
Home doesn't feel like home anymore
And sure doesn't look like it too
What happened to raising a child with love
I know you love me but do you love all
My brothers and sisters you let go hungry
Are you going to feed them?
Or leave them to join the lifeless
I know you love me but did you love those you let die in your arms because of violence and oppression
Mother of all things
Mother Earth I pray to God to help the weak, hungry and sick
And that he allow you to awake those trying to fall into a permanent
sleep on your body that is bare because of the lack of rain
But God you Can change that
Will you?
I would just hate to lose another sibling to something that can easily be stopped
Listen Earth you don't owe me any favors but how can you resist the sweet innocence voice of a 14 year old?
So let us fold our hands in prayer for the poor starving african children and the refugees that are just trying to make it
Let them know that it is okay to cry sometimes in the mist of pain just let it all out
And let us give them hope that one day it will all be better
You probably don't know me
You have never met me before but just know that I care
Even if Mother Earth doesn't
One day life won't be a struggle
But this is only a poem and it can't change the world
But it has always been my dream to do so
Some times I find myself wondering does my well being come at the expense of another
Do you let one go so you can save one?
God show me that you are listening right this moment
Because I have never met you but I know you are there working for those who you love
Please show some of that love on those too weak to call your name

The beginning of the poems

Imagination is the key to unlocking your poetic self. Poetry is a mixed of what you dream of and what you feel. In life if you write down all you have done so far in your life you have a story. A poem is just a well shaped story. That is the reason I feel that Life is just one long poem. In the religious sense, it is said that God and his angels keep a record of all we have done. The book of life is what it is known as. All stories I feel all stories have the potential to be a poem if it not already one in disguise.
