If you were a good mother you wouldn't let your children die in your arms
Or let your offsprings settle a disagreement with violence
You know you have done a terrible Job lately
Home doesn't feel like home anymore
And sure doesn't look like it too
What happened to raising a child with love
I know you love me but do you love all
My brothers and sisters you let go hungry
Are you going to feed them?
Or leave them to join the lifeless
I know you love me but did you love those you let die in your arms because of violence and oppression
Mother of all things
Mother Earth I pray to God to help the weak, hungry and sick
And that he allow you to awake those trying to fall into a permanent
sleep on your body that is bare because of the lack of rain
But God you Can change that
Will you?
I would just hate to lose another sibling to something that can easily be stopped
Listen Earth you don't owe me any favors but how can you resist the sweet innocence voice of a 14 year old?
So let us fold our hands in prayer for the poor starving african children and the refugees that are just trying to make it
Let them know that it is okay to cry sometimes in the mist of pain just let it all out
And let us give them hope that one day it will all be better
You probably don't know me
You have never met me before but just know that I care
Even if Mother Earth doesn't
One day life won't be a struggle
But this is only a poem and it can't change the world
But it has always been my dream to do so
Some times I find myself wondering does my well being come at the expense of another
Do you let one go so you can save one?
God show me that you are listening right this moment
Because I have never met you but I know you are there working for those who you love
Please show some of that love on those too weak to call your name
This is a very well written poem. You gave great examples of what you were talking about. It was also very deep. Keep up the good work!
