Haiku Traffic Signs Bring Poetry To NYC Streets
I recently read an article on NPR about the use of poetry in New York City
New York city is beginning to use traffic warning signs written as Haiku. I think people will really pay attention to it and it will get the message across to drivers, walkers and bike riders. This is a fresh and exciting way to get people's attention. I hope the trend catches on and other cities and start start to use it. This just goes to show that poetry is a great way to get a point across and to get people to really listen or look. Poetry is definitely starting to make a difference. We just have to find to get young minds into it so more creative ideas like this one get be made and known in the world. Young minds shouldn't go to waste. hopefully this will help.
