Duke University's only spoken word group, "Spoken Verb" is hosting a event on Friday March 16, 2012. The group presents "the visitor" with guest poets Miles Hodges of the Striver's Row, Najee Ritter and Yaya Baylock. The night will also be filled with other new faces. The event will start at 7:30 pm and space is limited so if you plan to attend you should be on time. It should be a great night full of great talent.
This is my story. The poems start now. My name is Debbie O. I started writing poetry in the 2nd grade. I didn't think much of it then, but I have grown to love it. In my 14 years of life I have learned a lot about life itself. Dreams can become a reality as long as you have imagination. Poetry is just what we call the written form of our dream with a little of life's lessons. I write poetry because it makes me feel good. Music is my muse.
