Soulless

It is lonely here
hollow, cold
I find myself trying to fill this void with meaningless things
white noise it all seems like ,in the face what is needed
I find my soul full of nothingness
and it claims to be abundant in those things unseened
but it lies
as the rest of me does
no more no less than what I have learned
I am not saddness by it
mildly depressed
but this soul in all its emptiness can not undserstand what I want
What I need as a whole
so I left it
It is now I suppose lonelier than before

William Shakespeare

In honor of the play Romeo and Juliet that I am reading in English class I am doing a feature on William Shakespeare.
William Shakespeare is widely regarded as the greatest writer in the English world. Shakespeare is a not only a writer but a poet too. He also used poetry in his plays. It is one of his poems

Bridal Song

ROSES, their sharp spines being gone,
Not royal in their smells alone,
   But in their hue;
Maiden pinks, of odour faint,
Daisies smell-less, yet most quaint,
   And sweet thyme true;
Primrose, firstborn child of Ver;
Merry springtime's harbinger,
   With her bells dim;
Oxlips in their cradles growing,
Marigolds on death-beds blowing,
   Larks'-heels trim;

All dear Nature's children sweet
Lie 'fore bride and bridegroom's feet,
   Blessing their sense!
Not an angel of the air,
Bird melodious or bird fair,
   Be absent hence!

The crow, the slanderous cuckoo, nor
The boding raven, nor chough hoar,
   Nor chattering pye,
May on our bride-house perch or sing,
Or with them any discord bring,
   But from it fly!
William Shakespeare

What does this mean to you? Comment please?

Haiku Traffic Signs Bring Poetry To NYC Streets

NYC Traffic Haiku

I recently read an article on NPR about the use of poetry in New York City
New York city is beginning to use traffic warning signs written as Haiku. I think people will really pay attention to it and it will get the message across to drivers, walkers and bike riders. This is a fresh and  exciting way to get people's attention. I hope the trend catches on and other cities and start start to use it. This just goes to show that poetry is a great way to get a point across and to get people to really listen or look. Poetry is definitely starting to make a difference. We just have to find to get young minds into it so more  creative ideas like this one get be made and known in the world. Young minds shouldn't go to waste. hopefully this will help.
